The expedition has been approved by the Cambridge Expeditions Committee following a vetting and assessment of the expedition objectives and risk assessment protocols. Our approval allows us to use the university name in our title.

The trekking company of Tanzin Norbu et al: Mountain Tribal Vision are our in-country agent and their knowledge of the area is invaluable to the success of the expedition. Their objectives of sustainable and eco-friendly tourism practices which enables the community at large to continue its traditions whilst engaging with new ideas, fits perfectly into the expedition ethos.

We are supported and advised by the newly founded Ladakh International Centre (2013) to ensure that we can communicate our research plans and outcomes locally. The centre, whose objective is to provide a unique space for informed discussion and research exchange on issues across High Asia, will help us contact local academics and translate our plans and outcomes to get the message out in Ladakh.
